Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat

When you go to Solo city, you must visit Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat. In the past, Keraton was a part of Mataram Kingdom, but because of politic problem with Netherlands, Mataram Kingdom divided into 2 Kasunanan, Kasunanan Surakarta lead by Pakubuwono III and Kasultanan Yogyakarta lead by Prince Mangkubumi.

Then, Prince Mangkubumi titled Sultan Hamengku Buwono I. That was the beginning of the Yogyakarta Kingdom. The Yogyakarta Kingdom still established to now and become Special Region of Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta Province). And Surakarta Palace still establish to right now, and in Keraton Surakarta (Surakarta Palace) building, stored many relics of previous kings

The visitor can see many collections of previous kings, in the Keraton Surakarta building. Many traditional ceremonies on a certain date like Sekaten on the night of the Birthday of Prophet Muhammad SAW, Arak Kebo Kyai Slamet in Satu Suro night is the first day of the Javanese calendar year in the month of Sura (also transcribed as "Suro"), corresponding to the Islamic month of Muharram.

The traditional festival or ceremonies like that made Solo or Surakarta become favorite spot for local and international tourist.

Radya Pustaka Museum

Radya Pustaka Museum place near of komplek Sriwedari Solo garden. This museum is one of oldest museum in Indonesia. This museum keeps many things about Solo City and relics of the Mataram kingdom. The museum located on Slamet Riyadi St No.275, Sriwedari Village, Laweyan District, Surakarta City

One of the popular collection in this museum is a porcelain that is a reward by Napoleon Bonaparte to Sri Susuhunan Paku Buwono IV. But in the past, several collections in this museum stolen by the royal family person, that case has been investigated by the Indonesian Police

Taman Satwa Taru Jurug

Jurug Zoo or Taman Satwa Taru Jurug is one of the favorite places for tourists. Jurug zoo located near to Bengawan Solo river. Every Sunday and national holiday, this place visit by many peoples from solo and another city to see the wild animals. Many wild animals nurtured in Jurug Zoo.

Ngarsopuro Night Market Solo

Ngarsopuro is one of Solo street that changes into comfortable place to hang out for Solo citizen. Ngarsopuro placed on Diponegoro Street or south of Pura Mangkunegaran. On a typical day, every night this place is a crowded visit by young people to hang out. But, every Saturday and Sunday night at 19.00-21.00 WIB, this place become crowd spot because many traders sell batik clothes, Solo culinary, and other souvenirs.

Batik Museum Danar Hadi Solo

This Museum keeps history about batik, and besides collect historical batik, this museum sells batik too, It's the brand named Danar Hadi Batik. Danar Hadi is a popular batik brand from Solo. You can buy batik clothes to be used as a souvenir for your family or your special person.

Klewer Market Solo

Solo also popular with a shopping tour. You can visit Pasar Klewer Solo or Klewer Market Solo. There many traders sell cheap batik clothes, fabric because Klewer Solo is wholesale clothing. You can try to bid clothes or fabric if you want to buy some clothes.

Solo Grand Mall

Modern shopping tour in solo is Solo Grand Mall or widely known as SGM. Solo Grand Mall is the largest mall in Solo. Everyday crowd by many people to buy food, hang out on food court, jewelry, and clothes. You can try to visit Solo Grand Mall to see what sold in SGM.

Kampung Batik Laweyan Solo

Solo popular because of batik, Solo has 2 batik village, Kampung Batik Laweyan, and Kampung Batik Kauman. They have many traditional batik creator. In Kampung Batik Kauman, the motive of batik is darker, and in Kampung Batik Laweyan the batik brighter than Kampung Batik Kauman.

Taman Hiburan Rakyat Sriwedari Solo

Taman Hiburan Rakyat or in English is Solo Recreation Park. Solo Recreation Park was showing traditional art performance of Central Java like Wayang Orang, Kethoprak, and another performance. Now, Sriwedari Park changes more modern place with added child playground like mini waterpark and food store and local music performance like dangdut, the music of Koes Plus Band and another interesting performance.

Istana/Pura Mangkunegaran

After Mataram Kingdom break into Kesultanan Yogyakarta and Kasunanan Surakarta, the crysis not over yet. 2 years after Agreement Giyanti, Kasunanan Surakarta separated into 2 otonom kingdoms, Kasunanan Surakarta and Mangkunegaran from Agreement Salatiga. Then, Mangkunegaraan lead by Raden Mas Said with title Mangkunegoro I. Now Mangkunegaran can visit by tourist. You can see many relics related about Mangkunegaran

Galabo

Central of night culinary in Solo City. Galabo or Gladag Langen Bogan (Galabo) Located on Mayor Sunaryo Street, Gladag and place in front of Pusat Grosir Solo or Solo Wholesaler Center. There's, many variations of Solo culinary are sold in Galabo
